Moving along

Hello everyone. Slowly, but surely I seem to have more energy. Was able to work around the house a little today.....who would ever have believed that I consider housework to be a priviledge! We walked 3 laps around the track, and it was a joy to be able to do that...in GC we see familiar folks and friends! Our summer landlord called last night to give us an update on the flowers in the yard (some of you may remember that Roger planted a few "extra" flowers while we were there, including in the sand box.) He said everything looked really good which of course was nice to hear. The flowers look good in GC also, esp. the ones that attract the beautiful butterflies.......take time for the small things, and remember that God is Good......All the Time. We love you. Sunday Night

Greetings to everyone. I am so very glad to be able to write a few notes myself tonight. I want to thank each of you for your continued thoughts and prayers over the past 3 difficult weeks. I want you to know that I am improving, slowly each day and will be moving into the next treatment phase very soon. The computer is still challenging for me so I will not stay on line long. Wanted you all to know I have improved. I am fighting hard. I was able to go briefly to Linley's soccer game, visit my Mother, and to Luke's football game yesterday. Today I was very excited to go to Church, it was wonderful to see everyone! Guess what, I am really tired tonight! Will try to send out an update frequently. Thursday Evening

Hello Everyone,
Dad asked me to do a quick post tonight and give a quick update. Mom is doing well today - the doctor has increased some of her medicine, and it seems to be making a dramatic difference. She is thinking and speaking a little quicker, and her sense of humor is still in tact. Eric and I have just gotten into town, and I am relieved to see her with the little twinkle in her eye! Mom just asked me what I am doing and when I said I was 'Blogging' she asked me to send each and everyone one of you a big hug! Although she has been out of touch with many of you, she still thinks of you daily. Please continue to keep us in your thoughts and prayers - we will be making big decisions in the upcoming days and weeks. We trust in the Lord that He will guide us through this leg of the journey. After all, God is good... and all of the time...

Wed. Aug. 22

We arrived back home from C'ville late Tuesday evening. Marlene made the trip without too much difficulty. Her MRI results show she will need some more treatment. We ask that you continue to pray that God will work in a mighty way for us during this time and that his Will be done. Thank you for your love and may God bless. Rem. Sun. Aug 19th

Sorry to have been away so long, but it has been a slow week. Marlene continues to have a low energy level. Her appetite is pretty good, but everthing still tastes bad. However, her spirits are high and she refuses to sit still for very long. Today she had a couple of battles with grandson Jack. We will travel to C'ville tomorrow afternoon. She has a MRI and two doctor visits Tuesday morning. Please keep us in your prayers as we go thru this part of our journey. May God bless and rem. God is good......and all the time....... Wed. Aug 15th

Marlene continues to grow a little stronger each day. Her appetite has improved and she has not been troubled by nausea. Her vision has not gotten any better than it was and she is not able to read for long periods of time. She has been staying up most of the day and washed and dryed clothes today. Tomorrow M has a treatment at the local hospital. This treatment is only done once a month so it is easier to get it done locally. Monday Evening

Marlene continues to have the weakies. However, she seems to get a little stronger each day. We are having a tough time finding foods that taste good to her. It seems everthing tastes like a metal can. If anyone has any suggestions, I would welcome them. God is working in our lives and we thank Him every day for his blessings that he is bestowing on us. Tell someone you love them today and remember God is good......and all the time...... In His love, M & R

Weekend Update

Hello to everyone who continues to follow our journey through this blog. Mom and Dad asked me to post a quick update on how we are progressing this week. The first half of this week was tougher than we had anticipated - as Dad posted earlier, Mom has been dealing with some of the after affects of her treatments. But today was a good day - although her energy level is still quite low, she was able to sit outside with Patti and I today and break a few beans. It was wonderful to just sit and enjoy the pleasant breeze, but Patti and I suspect Mom was really supervising our Bean-Breaking Skills!

Please continue to keep our family in your thoughts and prayers as we continue the battle - the Charlottesville doctor's office called on Friday and moved up the evaluation appointment by a week, so Mom and Dad will travel to Charlottesville for an overnight trip on August 21.

We are so grateful to you all and do not have to look very hard to know that God is good...All of the time. God bless you all,

Thursday Evening

Marlene has continued to feel weak and tired today. She says she is so tired that she can't even feel sorry for herself. She has eaten better today and has been out of bed several times. The pill that she is taking for nausea seems to be working, because she has not thrown up today. Please continue to pray that God will work in a mighty way and his will be done in our lives. August 6 '07

Marlene and I arrived back in Gate City thursday evening. It certainly feels good to be home. Marlene was able to visit with her mother all day Friday and friends came by on saturday. Sunday morning her energy level was very low and she did not feel well. Today she has been nauseated and weak. We ask you to continue to pray for us as we go into this part of our journey. Gate City

Headed Home

Good morning! We are closing up this house and headed for Gate City! There is the psychological thinking that the tx are over and things will be back to normal soon. I realize this morning that the battle continues. Devotions this morning was on banishing fear, and as always, very timely! I am thankful for all of you friends who have traveled with us on this journy and am glad that the C'ville part has been completed successfully. I look forward to the day when I will be able to thank you personnally and let you know how much it means to have the on going support. It has changed my life forever! Thank you for your prayers. Please continue to remember us as we return home and at least Roger goes back to work, not that he has not been working hard here, but he did have time to work on his tan!!
