Happy Labor Day

Happy Labor day to everyone. Hope you all have an opportunity to get some rest from your labors and enjoy your friends and family!! I plan to watch a few butterflies, maybe prune a rose or 2, my roses look surprisingly good considering the weather and deer. I am happy that I continue to have enough energy to be fairly active this weekend, although rest is still frequent. As you all know, I do not like to be idle. I am again able to do a few things like cross stitch and sudoko, although I am very slow. Reading is a challenge, but I believe I can see a little improvement daily. I firmly believe that I must be focused with a vision to work toward. For several years I have been telling Eric that when "I had time" he would have to teach me to fly fish, seemed like such a relaxing sport. This weekend he brought me a beautiful Orvis fly rod and reel. Said ok, now you can learn to fly fish. It is a pink ribbon rod. He assures me that I can learn to use it. So I wanted to share my new vision, that I will be able to go fly fishing soon. It is my prayer that I will be able to focus and see the vision, the challenge and the answers for the future. Thanks to each of you for your continued support and encouragement as we continue on this journey. Have a wonderful Labor Day, be safe. Remember that God is Good........All the time. Love Marlene & Roger

Hi Marlene!
I stopped in to check on your progress and update Glenna. I'm glad to see you're enjoying the flowers. Good luck fly fishing! ha ha.I like to fish but seems other than blue gill my one "Big" catch was a big fat ugly mud carp. ha ha. It was so much fun though trying to reel him in. I was as thrilled when I got him onto the dock as if he'd been a big bass.
Glenna sends her love.

I am glad to hear that you are up to doing the things you love. I am especially glad to hear that there will be a "fish fry" will be happening soon.

You are right: God is good all the time and all the time God is good.

Well Mom, Eric is always looking for a new fishing buddy! I will start looking for some pink waders and a pink vest for you - so you will look fashionable to the fish!

We love you so much and Eric is very excited about teaching you to use your new rod! We will see you soon!
Love,

P.S. Tell Dad that the BIG watermelon was the best one yet!

Hi Marlene!
This is the first time I have been able to get completely logged into this blog site to read these beautiful messages - my computer at home is SO slow (dialup) so I just decided that I'd do this at lunch (we won't comment further). I've been so moved by your personal strength and courage and must agree with you and Miss Anna-Belle ... God is good ALL the time and ALL the time God is good! You have many, many times crossed my mind in recent weeks and, while I've checked on your progress with Anna, I've also kept you in my daily prayers. We've also had you and your family on our prayer list at Sulphur Springs UMC in Castlewood...one of our dearest friends at the church, Nancy Warner, so warmly remembers you from her days as a school health nurse and always asks about you.

I must say I'm sitting here chuckling at the visual I get from you in pink waders and a vest along with that pink reel... I'm sure the fish will be MOST impressed! *wink* Just have FUN and get out there and enjoy yourself. Sounds like your family is going to keep you to that promise of "someday" taking time to learn to fly fish...the time is upon you, lady!!

I praise the Lord mightily that you are improving every day - you are an amazing woman and a wonderful example of faith, hope and perserverence.

Take care, enjoy your newest hobbie (I'm a HUGE Sudoku fan, I vote for puzzle books personally!) and keep on blogging! I can't tell you how much I've enjoyed reading about your amazing journey.

Much love and many prayers...
Jan Trent
