Friends
It is hard for me to follow Otis' blog last night, so I guess I will just say thanks to him and write my own note. Roger has fallen asleep early tonight, so I am alone. This will be a test, to see if I can type without leaving off letters and mispelling words, actually don't count misspelled words, for I never could spell! We have enjoyed visiting with friends from Gate City/Kingsport. Jim, Carol & Allen have lifted our spirits and made us smile and we are grateful. I am feeling pretty good. No new symptoms or side effects and I believe my vision has improved, at least slightyl. Yeah! Tiredness comes and goes, they tell me to expect that to increase a little, temporarily. My treatments have been later in the morning for a couple of days, so haven't seen the same folks in the waiting room. Thank you for continuing to keep them in your prayers, esp. Marie and my little teenager friend. Tomorrow is her last radiation treatment, but she still has more chemo to go through so my prayer is that she will tolerate it well and that it will do the job it is suppose to do. She has a lot of courage, and she and her mother are an inspiration to me. I continue to get as much exercise as I can.....it is an important part of my treatment plan and is written in the instructions, really. We are blessed to be in a wonderful residential neighborhood of walkers. Tonight we met a lovely grandmother, walking with her grandchildren. Her name is Diane and she invited us to go to church with her. For those Baptist and Methodist amoung you, both of our invitatioins to church have been from Presbyterians. Not to cause any of you any further worry about my newly liberalized husband, but we plan to visit the Presbyterians!! Until tomorrow, remember God is Good, all the time. Love you all. Marlene

It was great to see you both and we truly enjoyed ourselves. Hopefully you weren't as tired as we were trying to keep up with you! But the bottom line is sharing any day with special friends while getting to eat fresh frozen peach yogurt AND making a trip to Ben & Jerry's in the evening is outstanding by anybody's standard (or it should be)!
Brian called on the way home and said the class ran thru lunch so they could get out early. He was sorry he missed us. They were giving each other shots! Guess that might be the down side to studying nursing!
We went by the Cheese Shop and found it to be much like the Mennonite store in Greenville. In case you decide to stop sometime, we turned right between the car lot and bank (there was a Exxon on the opposite side of the road). The shop was about 1/2 - 1 mile down that road on the right.
Enjoy the grandchildren this weekend! Maybe Roger will have Rusty trained to knock on the door when he wants nuts by then!
Thanks again for your hospitality and as always we will be keeping you close in our thoughts and prayers.
We love you,
Allen & Carol
Well Marlene, after many weeks of trying to get the correct e-mail address, I finally typed you a message and then it wouldn't send because I didn't have a google account. But I wasn't born yesterday, I created my account and now can send you lots of entertaining e-mails about my daily life. I'm praying for your recovery Marlene. I hope that you aren't having too hard of a time. You've always been there for me when I've needed a friend and you've given yourself to everyone so unselfishly. Maybe one day, I'll become more mature and others will look to me for guidance rather than for entertainment....what do you think! Get better and I'll fix you a nice dinner when you get home or maybe I'll just bring you a box of cheez-its....love you a bunch, Jennie
