Singing
I realized yesterday that I had forgotten to sing. Isn't it amazing when we feel a little low, how we forget the really important things. Roger and I were reminded of the importance of keeping joy in our heart and my favorite way is through music. I don't always sing out loud, but always have a song "in my head". Roger's favorite way is to whistle, and today I have heard the Andy Griffith theme off and on all day. (I may sing out loud tomorrow, for revenge :) Isaiah 26:3 says "The Lord will keep you in perfect peace if you keep your mind stayed on Him". Our thoughts determine our destiny. You can't think negative thoughts and expect a positive outcome. So everybody remember to think positive and sing or whistle. Things are pretty much status quo today. Counting down the treatments. Rem: God is good.......All the time. Love and happy music to all. Roger and Marlene

Thanks Marlene,
As usual you keep me on the right track. I will be going to work singing (poor Anna).
We are counting down with you and are so thankful that you are almost finished. Yeah! Your strength and faith have gotten you through. God is Good Always
Marlene, We sure do miss you and Roger here in Gate City and think of you and your precious family daily. I have been enjoying and inspired by your blog - what a great thing! Your blog today especially touched me because lately, I have discovered the same thing. A good friend once told me that each day you have to choose how you will live that day - in JOY? You are right, it is so easy to forget to be joyful when we are feeling bad. Like you, music brings joy to my heart, I just don't have the gift of singing that you do! (Joel Olsteen's sermon this past Sun. was on that, but that's another story!) You and your family are such an inspiration to me and I feel quite sure that in a book of Women of Great Faith, you would be featured in Chapter 1! Praying that God will see you safely and peacefully through this last week and looking forward to seeing you and Roger safely back "HOME" in Gate City - till then.... God is Good all the Time...... Love, Margie
Marlene,
What about a PIANO and a good song book with the old HYMNS of faith?
Playing the piano may be just what you need.
Do you know what song that I have heard you play and sing the most?
It is "I Know Who Holds Tomorrow".
The chorus is:
Many things about tomorrow
I don't seem to understand;
But I know who holds tomorrow,
And I know who holds my hand.
Find a piano, Marlene.
Love you, Theresa
Oh Theresa, you are so right! That is definitely a song I have heard many times in my life... from my mother! Another one is 'His Eye Is On The Sparrow', which I find myself singing quite a bit.
Mom, of course you could always break out into a fun chorus of "The Sound of Music" or "The Lonely Goat-herd". I am not sure, but I think Dad enjoyed that so much he could join in!
I hope today has been a good day for you Mom! Has Dad taken care of the spider plant? Please don't get so adventurous with this one! I love you very much and will see you soon!
Love,
